The biggest culprits of road rage are those who live in the country’s largest cities. Apparently, the more traffic there is, the more people get irritated. People from these areas are more likely to be tailgating, speeding and honking at other drivers. And then there are the younger generations, which seem to have the most problems with road rage. People born between 1981 and 1996, commonly referred to as Millennials, caused more than half of all incidents of rude gestures or aggressive driving. Gen X, which is about to retire, caused only 21% of aggressive driving incidents and the baby boomers only 4.2%.

Interestingly, a large percentage of road rage incidents involve a firearm. And those who are most prone to committing these crimes are men. In fact, two percent of men admit that they have tried to run another vehicle off the highway or rammed it with their own. In addition, more than a quarter of road rage incidents involve people who have children in the car. In many of these cases, the children have been injured as well. It’s no surprise that road rage incidents have increased in recent years, as more and more people hit the roads each year.
